In
May, 2004 at SVITLOVODSK DAIRY there was launched the
first in Ukraine modern automated line on production
of hard rennet cheese with daily productivity of 45
tons of cheese. Due to this the industrial complex became
the largest and most modern cheese-making enterprise
in CIS countries.
Unique milk conditioning department, practically complete
exclusion of human participation in the cheese production
process and line universality have opened to SVITLOVODSK
DAIRY enormous opportunities in production of a wide
range of high quality cheese.
This industrial complex was set into operation in 1987.
This was one of the last milk enterprises built in Ukraine.
At that time the enterprise was oriented at production
of butter and skimmed milk powder. In 2000 the enterprise
was incorporated into the Cheese Club Corporation.
In 2003 a priority development direction became production
of hard rennet cheeses. Taking the decision was preceded
by careful market studying, determination of tendencies
and perspectives of its development, studying of advanced
technologies and equipment for production of hard and
semi-hard cheeses in the world. As a result of it there
was launched the first in Ukraine automated line with
daily productivity of 45 tons of cheese, projected by
the OBRAM company and supplied with its equipment and
also equipment of leading world producers: Gea-Westfalia,
Alfa-Laval, Siemens, Foss Electric A/S, Garioni Naval,
Bitzer, Cryovac Sealed Air Corporation.
Modern and unique for milk enterprises of Ukraine and
CIS the milk conditioning department allows to standardize
raw materials by several characteristics and to almost
completely solve the problem faced by all enterprises-producers
of hard cheeses – cheese-making milk unfitness. The
milk conditioning department includes deaerator, separator,
direct in-line standardiser “Standomat”, bactofuge,
plate heat exchanger with sections for regeneration,
pasteurization, and cooling.
Production line automation
and modern equipment washing system have increased the
production efficiency and allowed to obtain cheeses
of high and stable quality.
The process of cheese ripening, as well as storage of
ready-made products takes place in the new chambers
equipped taking into account proper temperature and
humidity modes, on the base of modern technique. Cooperation
of the enterprise with the leading world producers of
starters, enzyme preparations and package materials
is also one of the bases for obtaining of high-quality
product.
Line universality gave the enterprise an opportunity
of producing hard rennet cheeses of different kinds.
As a result Svitlovodsk Dairy can offer the consumer
a good range of cheeses with various textures, consistence,
taste and smell.
With the purpose of organization of wasteless production
the enterprise carries out drying of cheese whey.
Long-term experience of production of skimmed milk powder
and butter and a few stages of reconstruction of the
enterprise allowed to create production traditions and
to keep unchanged the high level of quality. Today the
dry milk products produced by Svitlovodsk Dairy (skimmed
milk powder and whey powder) are realized not only in
Ukraine but also at the world market. Our consumers
are companies from the Netherlands, Japan, Syria, Bangladesh,
Algeria, Bulgaria and Russia. The enterprise can produce
20 tons of dry milk products a day. The products of
enterprise aroused great interest at the annual international
exhibition SIAL'2004 which took place in China, where
Svitlovodsk Dairy was the only one to represent Ukraine.
The quality of cow butter produced by the enterprise
was highly estimated both by end users and at the industrial
market. The butter of Svitlovodsk Dairy is bought for
the State Reserve of Ukraine. In 2003 specialists of
the State Reserve Committee in a letter addressed to
the chief officials of the enterprise marked the high
quality indices of the butter supplied by the enterprise.
The enterprise produces butter sold by weight and packaged
butter.
The experts of Svitlovodsk Dairy pay special attention
to formation and development of raw material area. Today
the enterprise has created and has been systematically
developing the raw material area, where, along with
collective farms, milk is collected from individual
farms. On the territory of raw material area in large
villages there have been organized 44 points for collection
of milk from individual farmers, with tanks-coolers
and mini-laboratories for cooling, reserving of milk
and control of its quality. The enterprise helps the
suppliers in providing for fodder and other commodities
necessary for cattle care. Timely payment for supplied
milk is another stimulus for milk suppliers and the
basis for long-term and mutually beneficial collaboration
with Svitlovodsk Dairy.
